Made In America Store Suggests A Pause, Prayer & Patriotism For America Strong During Coronavirus Outbreak

Inspired by the iconic “Rosie the Riveter” poster, a symbol of American resilience, “We Can Do It!”

ELMA, N.Y. (PRWEB) March 12, 2020 - March is Women’s History Month, so we have been seeing quite a bit of this World War II poster. Its message inspired thousands of women to staff the munitions factories that helped achieve victory for the US and its allies in World War II, and continues to inspire young girls and women, indeed everyone, today.

Back then, we knew the enemy. We saw the enemy. Today, the enemy is unseen, but ever-present in the lives of every man, woman and child. Those of us fortunate to not be infected with COVID-19 still have had our lives changed in ways we could never have imagined just a few weeks ago. All this, from something invisible to the naked eye.

Invisible – yes. Invincible – no. This virus will not defeat American values or ingenuity, American optimism or unity. Every level of government that touches our lives – from school districts to the county, from New York State to the federal government, has made suggestions -- and issued some directives -- on how we are to live our lives in the next few months.

We are at war with a virus that is new. To protect ourselves and those we love, we have to abide by the new rules and regulations established to protect every American, especially the most vulnerable members of our communities. And, we salute the brave first responders and medical teams that are seeing to our most urgent needs.

We can defeat this viral menace only by coming together as a community, county, state and nation – coming together as Americans. Let’s pause to see all the good things around us – how are leaders are taking steps to protect us. Let’s pause to be kind to one another – in line at the grocery store, at the gas pumps or when we are waiting for medical appointments or at the pharmacy.

Let us be generous to those who started out with less than we had before the coronavirus outbreak, and will have a tougher time managing their day-to-day lives. Let’s be respectful to those who are caring for us in our healthcare system. Let us appreciate those who are protecting us overseas and here at home – our military, police, fire service and EMS. For those on the front lines – serving and protecting us at the risk of their own health – let us say thank you again and again.

So, just as we came together immediately after the terrorist attacks on 9/11, and in keeping with the request of our elected leaders at every level of government, let’s show we are AMERICA STRONG! Please fly the American flag, a demonstration of our unity and gratitude at this profoundly challenging time in our nation’s history. If you don’t have a flagpole, place flags in the windows of your homes and apartments. America is the “Land of the Free, Because of the Brave,” but we can all be strong – AMERICA STRONG! God bless America!
