As the countdown to the Erie County Fair begins, the Made in America Store is buzzing with excitement. We recently had the honor of hosting Jimmy Strates, the third-generation owner of Strates Shows, on our WECK Radio show. With Strates Shows celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2023, we delved into the captivating history of the company and its integral role at the Erie County Fair.

With a century of excellence under its belt, Strates Shows has become synonymous with excitement and fun. Since 1924, Strates Shows has been a central part of the Erie County Fair, providing approximately 70 exhilarating rides and 100 captivating games on the fair's midway. Their presence and contributions have become a cherished tradition, adding an extra layer of excitement and entertainment to the event.

On our show, we also talked the intricacies of planning and preparing for fairs and carnivals. We gained valuable insights into the industry's ability to pivot, adjust, and adapt in the face of unforeseen challenges. The Strates Shows and the broader carnival industry have demonstrated remarkable resilience, particularly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
