The Buses Are Coming Back!

One of the hardest hit industries impacted by the COVID pandemic, as well as corresponding supply chain challenges and staff shortages, is tourism and hospitality. Made in America Store has attracted thousands of tourists from its first year in operation – 2010, and with the exception of 2020, has shown exciting growth in this part of the business.
“We love buses,” Mark Andol, Founder and CEO of Made in America Store remarked. “Our flagship store in Elma was custom-designed to accommodate multiple bus groups of visitors. Whether it’s the at-grade entrances, expansive one-floor plan, roomy aisles or abundant bathroom facilities, bus groups from across the U.S. have learned that they can count on our store to provide a comfortable, memorable and enjoyable experience.”
Made in America Store’s flagship location in Elma, NY, less than 30 minutes from Downtown Buffalo and less than an hour’s drive from Niagara Falls, is conveniently located to enhance any tour itinerary that includes travel to or through Western New York.
“Once COVID vaccines were readily available, tour bus companies and tourism product suppliers made every effort to sanitize their fleet and market their precautions to their customers, bus groups felt more comfortable traveling again,” Andol continued. “Each month, since spring of this year, has brought us increasing numbers of reservations and visits. Next year holds great promise for a robust rebound, based on our discussions with industry experts and the comments from our customers."
At present, bus groups from every region of the U.S. are represented among the store’s visitors. Our nearby neighbors in Pennsylvania and Ohio have returned in the highest numbers. The only exception is the Western United States which relies heavily on air travel to visit the Northeast.
“We are also pleased to offer groups a 'picnic on the porch' dining amenity that can be moved indoors in case of inclement weather. Working with a local chef who freshly prepares locally-sourced produce and meats, we are ready to help bus groups plan – in advance – for a truly unique hospitality experience,” Andol added.
Due to staff shortages forcing restaurants to reduce their hours of operation, including eliminating lunches to focus on dinners, the meal amenity offered to bus groups by Made in America Store is needed now more than ever.
“Interested groups should contact our Director of Fun at (716) 652-0024 to pre-plan their visit. The meal amenity is only available with advance reservations,” Andol concluded.
