MADE IN AMERICA STORE PARTNERS WITH SCRATCH PANTRY OF ARCADE, NY

Local farm family business expands its market with its Fall/Winter/Spring Location in Elma

Mark Andol, founder of the Made in America Store and General Welding & Fabricating, is excited to announce a new collaboration that aligns perfectly with 2024 Farm and Safety Week. This partnership brings together his one-of-a-kind store and Scratch Pantry, founded by Patti Schenk, along with her two children, Sarah and Patrick.

“I’d say it’s a ‘Scratch Made in Heaven,’” Andol began. “Since we first opened in 2010, the Made in America Store has been committed to featuring locally-produced items to complement the many U.S. factory-made items our customers have come to expect. Patti’s Pantry will take us to the next level while also emphasizing the importance of farm safety."

Up until this new joint initiative, Scratch Pantry operated seasonally on Rte. 98 in Arcade, NY, from mid-spring to Labor Day weekend, carefully sourcing its freshly grown and lovingly made products from Western New York farms. Now, with the support of the Made in America Store, the goal is to expand these offerings into a year-round market that also highlights farm safety education.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to expand our seasonal family business into a year-round market opportunity,” stated Schenk. “This truly is a labor of love for me and my children and a personal passion to keep my husband’s memory alive while promoting farm safety during Farm and Safety Week 2024. Our aim is to raise awareness about the vital issue of farming safety, especially as we serve our community.”

Patti tragically lost her husband in a farming accident in 2014 when he was only 46 years old. In the years since, she and her children have directed a portion of their company’s proceeds to the farming community in Western New York, with a focus on farm safety awareness and education. She believes that the partnership with the Made in America Store will extend this mission further.

In 2021, Patti turned her heartbreak into a beacon of healing for herself, her family, and their neighbors in WNY by offering an incredible selection of seasonal produce; jams and jellies made by her daughter; artisan breads; and legendary scratch-made pies, all will be available soon at our Made In America Store located at 1000 West Maple Street in Elma, NY.

Andol eagerly anticipates introducing the Scratch Pantry to his loyal customers in WNY and to the many tourists arriving via tour bus from destinations like Colorado to Cape Cod, Maine to Minnesota, Florida to Texas, and every state in between.

“This October, we’ll be hosting our 1,400th tour bus since we first opened,” Andol added. “Patti’s belief that ‘food brings people together’ will come to full fruition; her passion and commitment to farm safety will resonate with a national audience during Farm and Safety Week 2024. Together, we hope to inspire conversations about the importance of safety in the agricultural community while celebrating our shared love for local, high-quality products.”
